Organization and workflow are improved with the new update as well thanks to new built-in ways to search and sort photos within the app. The mobile version of ON1 Photo RAW includes new effects and filters, such as the Dynamic Contrast filter, which ON1 states is the 'gold standard for amazing clarity and detail.' Additional new filters include Curves, Glow and HDR Look.
Further, local adjustments in ON1 Photo RAW Mobile utilize ON1's proprietary raw processing engine.

The new masking tools also support the Apple Pencil and Android Stylus. The brush includes edge detection features and allows the user to create a precise mask with just their finger. As part of the new masking functionality, ON1 Photo RAW Mobile includes ON1's Perfect Brush. ON1 Photo RAW Mobile for iOS, iPadOS and Android devices includes new masking features, allowing users to make specific localized adjustments and effects.

The new software classifies individual faces in the frame, adds 'realistic retouching' to the skin, eyes and mouth without the use of global retouching. Dan Harlacher, VP of Product for ON1, describes ON1 Portrait AI as follows, 'This product was created to solve the main problem portrait photographers face, spending way too much time editing individual portraits or entire shoots.' Harlacher continues, '…ON1 Portrait AI is incredibly fast at getting through an entire shoot…' ON1 Portrait AI uses machine learning to locate and evaluate each face in portrait photos to retouch and process them without the need for manual adjustments. ON1 has also announced the all-new ON1 Portrait AI, which is available as a standalone application and as a plug-in for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Corel Paintshop Pro, Apple Photos and Capture One (at a later date). LR is faster across the board, and that's saying something.ON1 has unveiled new updates for its suite of software, including major upgrades to ON1 Photo RAW and new features in ON1 Photo Mobile. I can make all the adjustments I want while the preview is updating. Luminar isn't the fastest beast either but the sliders themselves don't bog down. Mouse gets choppy, slider basically slow to respond/unresponsive until the shadows adjustment has finished on the preview. So I'll make an adjustment, say raising the shadows. The problem I'm having with PR is that the sliders get bogged down.

Switched from LR to Luminar a couple days ago full time. I'm glad to hear others aren't experiencing the same thing. NVIDIA GTX 960 4gb, though I'm not sure if ON1 leverages the video card. My system certainly is not state of the art with a AMD FX-8370 but I do have 32gb of ram, which is to the point of being pointless. The feature wasn't included with this update due to 'some fine tuning' that is still needed, but it will likely be released in a late January free update. In addition to feature changes, Photo RAW 2019.1 adds support for the following cameras:Īccording to ON1, it is wrapping up work on its upcoming AI Quick Mask Tool, which will replace the original Quick Mask Tool. The update adds the option to delete face selections, the Crop tool now remembers its preset across images, there's the ability to import/export the keyword list, and other minor enhancements. Other enhancements include better masking results when copying, pasting, and inverting, plus increased face auto-detection accuracy for portraits. The Focus Stacking dialog and HDR window previews now include panning and zooming. Users now have the option output as layers with layer masks, as well, for additional manual adjustments. The enhanced Focus Stacking feature offers more accurate image alignment and less speckling. The new 2019.1 version features enhanced Focus Stacking, masking and portrait features, as well as improvements to the Lightroom plug-in and enhancements suggested by users.
